普氏新闻网2006年6月27日消息，埃克森美孚在研究了10年压裂技术以后，准备开发科罗拉多州Piceance盆地35万亿立方米致密地层天然气。目前，埃克森美孚正申请美国土地管理署同意开发Piceance盆地的天然气，埃克森美孚准备在今后的两年时间里在28万亩的土地上钻探超过200口天然气井。
