2019年1月12日，清华大学（建筑学院）-中南置地数字建筑研究中心徐卫国教授团队运用自主研发的机器臂3D打印混凝土技术，在上海宝山智慧湾建成目前规模最大的混凝土3D打印步行桥。该步行桥全长26.3米，宽度3.6米，桥梁结构借取了中国古代赵州桥的结构方式，采用单拱结构承受荷载，拱脚间距14.4米。在该桥梁进入实际打印施工之前，进行了1:4缩尺实材桥梁破坏试验，其强度可满足站满行人的荷载要求。
